New scheme in Cardenden targets healthier hearts for cardiac patients
10 AugustA new scheme in Cardenden is offering heart patients the opportunity to learn more about healthy eating - and help look after themselves.
Patients attending cardiac rehab classes in the town are being offered a course of active cooking lessons, and the opportunity to prepare their own dishes, and learn about foods and cooking methods - as well as making healthier choices in what they eat.
The scheme is being run by the British Heart Foundation (Scotland and NHS Fife), who have invested £100,000 in local cardiac rehabilitation, and provided two health coaches to support patients.
