Improving Bowhill Woodlands

Pretty gutted to discover that every tree that backs onto the back of Jamphlars Place has actually been chopped down.  I wonder how much wildlife has been destroyed with the "thinning" down of Bowhill Woodlands!?  There are now no trees to encourage the wide range of birds into our gardens.  I know the intention is to improve the area through the recent grant awarded, but surely this vast amount of destruction was unecessary!?, re-planting conifers, if thats the intention, will take years to grow, does anyone know what the full plans are?

Cardenden Environment Group is aware of the situation and has held an on-site meeting with Fife Council a few weeks ago to express their concerns.

The matter will be discussed further at our next meeting on 20th Jan in the Ore Valley Office, Station Road, at 10-00 am.

Anyone wishing to attend is welcome, or just add your comments to this page.

Many thanks for that information David, I spoke with the council today and they have advised me that they are thinning the wood down because it is so overgrown and needs managed!?, so will do my best to attend the meeting on Friday.
