Event looks to the future of green spaces in Cardenden

A drop-in event looking at the future of green spaces in the local area is coming to Cardenden - with the chance to see survey results, and comment on future plans.

The drop in event is being held between 5:30 and 8:30pm on Wednesday 17th March at the Auchterderran Centre, 14 Woodend Road, Auchterderran.

This is a chance to see the survey results for Ballingry, Cardenden, Cowdenbeath, Crossgates, Kelty, Kingseat, Lochgelly and Lumphinnans and to comment on the results and the development of the strategy.

A recent greenspace survey carried out across Fife has found that the Cowdenbeath Area has poor quality greenspace in and around its towns and villages.

The survey also found out that the amount and pedestrian access to space was reasonable. Lochore Meadows Country Park was a high quality space but many of the parks in the towns and villages were poor quality and needed to be improved.

The survey looked at the amount and quality of space, and pedestrian access to spaces in and around the towns and villages of Fife. The results across Fife showed that 40% of the population have below average access to quality greenspace.

The Council is now developing a five year strategy, with the aim to ensure that Fife has a good network of high quality, publicly usable greenspace that makes it a great place to live, work and visit.

You can find out more about the event here on the Fife Council website.
