Cardenden homes to cut bills with 'energy makeover'

Residents in Cardenden will be amongst the first in Scotland to see homes benefit from an 'energy makeover' that could save up to £300 a year in fuel bills.

The Scottish Gas-backed scheme will see improvements made to 400 homes in Bowhill, Auchterderran and part of the Jamphlars area - with the scheme managed by Ore Valley Housing Association.

The improvements will include external wall insulation, loft insulation and draught proofing to reduce heat loss, as well as a communal biomass boiler and heating controls.
