Cardenden green firm folds - but local projects are safe
3 AugustTwo local jobs have been lost as a Cardenden firm formed to promote renewable energy projects has gone into liquidation.
However, the closure will not affect green projects being run in Cardenden itself, the council have promised.
Renew Services Ltd was established in 2007 with the aim that its projects would lead to carbon reduction, generating and securing community controlled renewable energy supply and addressing fuel poverty - however last week the firm was forced to close its doors with the loss of two jobs.
Renew Services was managing the Cardenden Heat and Power (CHaP) project on behalf of the council and Ore Valley.
CHaP is a renewable energy project which aims to deliver affordable heating and hot water to the tenants and residents of Cardenden.
