Denend

Just reading about Denend school reminded me of when I first started there in, (either 1950, or 1951, I’m not certain). Probably due to the recent war, there was much rationing still in force. This seemed to include paper jotters since we were all given a wooden framed piece of slate and a piece of chalk. This is what we used to do our sums, and our alphabet. Does anyone else remember this, (or is Alzheimers setting in?).
