53rd Cardenden Scouts

by dave smart

The photo of the 53rd scouts has eight boys in it, but I can only put names to five of them.  Back row:  Martin, Mathieson, Smart, Stark.  Front row:  Phillp, ?,?,?.

Who are the other three?  The photo was probably taken about 1959.

Robert Philp says

I am Robert Philp, front left in the photo. The others in the front row from left to right are Stewart McGregor, Robert Harley and George Ritchie. The photo was taken in 1959 of the scouts from the 53rd Fife who took part in the Forsyth Trophy at a camp in Raith Estate Kirkcaldy.

Shirley Greenwood says

I am Shirley Greenwood (Formerly Stewart)  my cousin is Stewart McGregor who is in the pic of the 53rd scouts.  I have lost touch with Stewart as he and his brother Cambell emigrated to Canada a number of years ago, however, it was to see him on a photograph, thanks to whoever sent it in.

Dave Lamb says

Elizabeth Henderson, I remember you from school, were you not friends with Anne Wylie who lived not far from you in Carden Castle Park.

Memories, Nostalgia & History

History doesn't have to be in black & white

Your memory of a local character or a school photo from the last ten years can be just as interesting as wars and Victorians.
