Awards for dedicated Scout helpers on the 23rd of November Tom Slaven and Jim McGuinness were honoured by the Scout Association

Tom and Jim have served faithfully the 4th Fife Scout Group for many years off exemplary service this was recognised in the award of the Medal of Merit one of Scouting’s highest awards this is the first award in the Scout Group for many years and it was particularly pleasing to see both these stalwarts honoured ... outstanding !

Tom is the chairman of the parent executive and started helping some 30 years ago when his children joined as a Cub Scout. Jim our treasurer first joined the Cubs in the 1950's and has help the group since then

The Scout Group have been serving Cardenden since 1927 we offer the full range of Scouting activities for children from the age of 6 – 18 years old

This year Summer camp took place on the banks of loch Tay in the past we have visited Germany and Holland the year before we spent time in Paris and Euro Disney we offer an exciting and challenging yet safe program for young people

We welcome new members and adults wishing to work with children our meeting times are

Beaver Scouts 6 – 8 years old Tuesday 6.30 – 8.00 pm

Cub Scouts 8 – 10.5 years old Wednesday 7.00 – 8.30 pm

Scouts 10.5 – 14.5 years old Thursday 7.00 – 8.30 pm

My father was Scoutmaster of this Scout Group in the 50s when the old Scout Hall burned down in Auchterderran.
